Good morning, here’s the word for today, Tuesday, January 16, 2018.
God's Servant!
"Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant
of Christ." (Galatians 1:10, NIV)
Paul was obviously not worried about trying to please the people around him. It's not that he didn't care about others. It's just that he was focused on serving the Lord. Many times you maybe too worried about what people think of you, which inhibits you from following God with your whole heart. There are always going to be situations where we are caught between pleasing God or men. Maybe you are against sharing the gospel with others because you think it might offend them? or maybe you are under pressure to conform to the standard of this world so as not to be seen as a stupid/crazy Jesus believer? We are to lookout for the situations because they are meant to keep us away from God’s plan. They are meant for us to deny God His glory. Jesus says in Mathew 10:33 “whoever denies me before man I will also deny before my father in heaven”. You are called to serve God without reserve, so fulfill His plan without letting others sidetrack you.
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
God, give me the dedication to be Your servant alone. Help me not to be sidetracked by what others may think of me. In Jesus' name. Amen.Have a terrific day.
I celebrate you!
