Serena Williams Revealed She Had Her Baby Through C-section

Serena Williams is on the cover of the February 2018 issue of Vogue Magazine with her daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. The tennis star revealed to the magazine that her daughter was born by emergency C-section. The surgery went well but the next day, while still at the hospital, she felt short of breath due to her history of blood clots. Though she’s fine now, Serena admits she’s always living in fear of blood clots.

Serena had her baby on September 1 and married her husband Alexis Ohanian on November 17, 2017.
On motherhood, Serena admitted to being scared when she was pregnant with regards to whether she was going to be a good mother or not.  “Sometimes I get really down and feel like, Man, I can’t do this. It’s that same negative attitude I have on the court sometimes. I guess that’s just who I am. No one talks about the low moments—the pressure you feel, the incredible letdown every time you hear the baby cry. I’ve broken down I don’t know how many times. Or I’ll get angry about the crying, then sad about being angry, and then guilty, like, Why do I feel so sad when I have a beautiful baby? The emotions are insane.”
She will be defending her Australian Open title in March at Indian Wells, and will also debut a new clothing line in March on her website.
