GOVERNMENT SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT.
It is hereby announced for the information of the general public particularly Deltans that the Federal Government through the Universal Basic Education Commission, Abuja in collaboration with the Delta State Universal Basic Education Board, Asaba have commenced the enlistment of eligible persons into the 2017 Federal Teachers’ Scheme.
The criteria for eligibility to participate in the Scheme include:
I. Possession of the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) from Institutions accredited by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) and awarded not earlier than 2013
II. Candidates must not be above 40 years of age
III. Candidates should specialize in any of the following basic education subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Science, Vocational Education, Nigerian and Foreign Languages, Special Education and Early Childhood Care and Development Education.
IV. Candidates who are currently working and receiving salary or allowance from any organization (Public and Private) are not eligible to participate in the Scheme without first formally disengaging from the organization.
Successful applicants will be deployed to the following categories of basic education schools:
I. Schools located in the remote rural and, sometimes, difficult-to-reach places.
II. Schools identified through UBEC quality assurance to be without teachers.
III. Nomadic Schools.
IV. Almajiri Schools
V. Schools in the Internally Displaced Persons Camps
Successful applicants should note that none of those enlisted would be allowed to serve in Schools that are already fairly provided with teachers, especially those in the urban and sub-urban centres.
Interested applicants should submit application to the Office of the Executive Chairman, Delta State Universal Basic Education Board Headquarter Office, Maryam Babangida Way, Asaba on or before Friday November 24, 2017.
